This week I applied a lawn fungus control spray to prevent fungus in my lawn. I used BioAdvanced Fungus Control spray, purchased at Home Depot. The reason I went with this spray is because its active ingredient is Propiconazole. Last year I applied Scott’s DiseaseEx which has a different active ingredient. If you have to apply a fungicide, it’s a good idea to switch between these 2 active ingredients each year so the fungi don’t become immune to one or the other.
All of the rain and humidity lately create perfect conditions for fungus to develop in the lawn. As much as I hate to apply this type of chemical, it does help prevent rust and other common lawn diseases. If your lawn hasn’t had any fungus issues in the past, I would not recommend applying this.
My weekly lawn mowing frequency has dropped to once per week since the grass isn’t growing as much. That’s all for now, hope you enjoy the summer in your lawn!
