You are currently viewing Detached My Lawn But Skipped Overseeding

This Fall, for the first time, I will skip overseeding my lawn. The reason for this is because my lawn is super thick, and there’s almost no room for water and nutrients to penetrate down to the soil.

Instead, my plan is to detach the lawn to open up some much-needed space and give it some room to “breathe”. This should help the existing grass thrive by enhancing air circulation and improving nutrient absorption from the soil.

Although I won’t be overseeding this year, I do have some bare spots due to the previous damage caused by weeds. I will take the time to seed these areas to ensure they are replenished with healthy grass. This targeted seeding will help fill in the patches, creating a more uniform and lush appearance.

For anyone considering overseeding, I highly recommend you check out an article that I wrote about how to overseed a lawn.
